This dam is a key infrastructure for the modernization of the “Riegos del Alto Aragón” irrigation system. The scope includes several alternatives for the dam. Dam “current alternative”: Loose material dam 55m high and 931m at its highest point. The spillway is a canal (open pit) of a flow of 2,228 m3/s as peak for the maximum flood of 1000 years. Dam “new proposal”: roller-compacted concrete (RCC) gravity. The scope of the project includes compilation of existing documentation related to the project, review of existing designs, initial studies and feasibility studies and detailed design of the dam.
