The purpose of the project is to design the necessary infrastructures for irrigation of the “Valles Alaveses” area. The area to benefit from the project includes an irrigation area of 7,024.40 hectares; it is located on the left bank of the River Ebro, between the Zadorra, Bayas, Omecillo Rivers and their tributaries, and it directly affects 24 WAUs (Associations of Water Users).

The detailed design performed includes: Intakes from the Quejo, Nograro and Barrio streams and Omecillo River, Barrón Dam with a height of 33.50m, and 482.40m on the higher level, 3 reservoirs of over 1 hm3 (Los castors, La Aloya and Villaluenga), 12 pools of more than 50,000 m3, 9 pumping stations, 80 km of irrigation piping for the main network and 360 km of irrigation piping in secondary networks.
