The Montearagón reservoir was built in 2010 next to the municipality of Loporzano and has a capacity of 52 hm3. The work began with a study of alternatives for the route between the reservoir and the future DWTS. This was followed by detailed design of the chosen alternative, defining a water infrastructure including a dam inlet of two 1,300 mm steel tubes, a route with 11.21 km of ductile iron pipe, flows of between 424.87 l/s and 357.16 l/s and 10 crossings with the River Flumen.
